This is going to start to turn into a movie blog lols, but its just i cant stop watching them, especially when i get hooked. Anyway.
After about a year of contemplating on whether to watch watch the film 'My Sassy Girl' and finally getting the subtitles to work, i put it on last night and stayed up until about 3 in the morning watching it.
TAKEN FROM WIKIPEDIA
"My Sassy Girl (엽기적인 그녀; literally, That Bizarre Girl) is a 2001 South Korean romantic comedy film in which the lead protagonist chance meeting with a drunk girl on the train changes his life. It is based on the true story told in a series of love letters written by Kim Ho-sik, a man who initially posted them on the Internet and later adapted them into a novel. The film was directed by Kwak Jae-yong.
The film was extremely successful in South Korea. When My Sassy Girl was released throughout East Asia, it was well received in the entire region. An American remake, starring Jesse Bradford and Elisha Cuthbert, and directed by Yann Samuell is scheduled to be released in 2008. A Japanese drama adaptation with Tsuyoshi Kusanagi and actress Rena Tanaka as the leads started broadcasting in April 2008."
Well all i can say is that this is one of the best films i have everrrr seen! I enjoyed every second of it. Kim Ho-sik you're a wonderful writer and this film is very sad, funny and just a great love story all together. In the end i was praying to Buddha for a happy ending (i wont tell you what happens). Now everytime i think of the words My Sassy Girl i get this wierd feeling, just remembering the film.(Im not gay or emo, i bet youll feel the same if you watch this. Not that theres anything wrong with being gay, im all for it but emos *cringe go cheer up or something please)So i wake up this morning at 6.30. I go back to sleep. lol
I end up sleeping until 12 dreaming that i had brought my office chair to school for some stupid reason. Anyway, after showering ect i couldn't help myself but find out more about the film. So i looked it up on wikipedia. I find out that the movie was filmed in 2001 and i thought to myself, if only i discovered it earlier, i could have felt and experienced the wonderful things that come from it, but then i think some more, if i had discovered it earlier, at a younger age, would it of meant as much to me as it does now? I came to the answer that it probably wouldn't of. I probably would of been praying for the film to end, thinking it was torture to sit through all of it. I don't know if 1 litre of tears had any effect on this.(probably did)
Here i am on wikipedia reading the synopsis and what have you, and i see at the top of the page "My Sassy Girl American Version(White peoples remake)to be released on August 19 2008 with casting of some no name actor and actress to play the lead roles.
I'm thinking to myself right now. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
please god do not let them make this remake. You will ruin the film for everyone that hasnt seen the original yet just like how you ruined all the classic Japanese films. Please Hollywood, write your own movies, go back to guns and explosions. Don't mean to be racist or anything if that did come off abit racist. But then you might say, 'well how are all the white people going to experience the film? Most of them dont go looking for Korean movies'. I cant really argue with you there.
I can't exactly provide a link if you want to watch it but if your thinking about it (Y) go for it.
My Sassy Girl FTW!!
5 chunks out of 5 lol
